2026 Week 0 Update

Hello everyone, and welcome to the second year of the AZTECH Robotics Build Season Blog! My name is Geo Tucker and I am the 2025-2026 Business President of Team 6479. I am thrilled to bring you the Week 0 post. For those of you who already know what FIRST is, be prepared for us to break down the game next week! For those of you who are new though, here is what FIRST Robotics is all about and why we wanted to start this blog in the first place!

FIRST Robotics Competition is not just about robotics but about the aspirations of high schoolers and the impact STEM can have on a community. This year, as our team gets together to build a new robot, we want to give a comprehensive look at what we are up to. Each week, one to two officers will post a written segment on what their subteam is up to. By the end of the season, you’ll have met each officer and become familiar with their subteams and hopefully understand the process it takes to get to our finished robot as well as run the team successfully! Thank you all for following along on our 2026 Rebuilt season journey!

Today was kickoff, which meant that we recieved our new game! Our team has been hard at work breaking down the game, its rules, and how our robot will look. All our hard work this offseason is coming together for the season. In the coming weeks we will begin the process of strategizing, prototyping, manufacturing, building, and coding a robot that is competition ready, while also increasing our outreach efforts with a whopping 7 events in the next two months!
