Week 4 Update
Hello everyone, this is AZTECH’s electrical lead, Visakan! Last week, we started the CAD for the robot, and this week was all about finalizing it so the robot will be ready for manufacturing and assembly.
Throughout this week, we had multiple PDRs (Preliminary design reviews) and CDRs (Critical design reviews) of the subsystems on the robot to identify any improvements that could be made. I am pleased to say we are nearing the end of cad, with only the full robot CDR left, and we have already started fabricating and manufacturing the other subsystems.
Our partly assembled intake:
Climb
We also added a whole other subsystem; the climb, which works through an elevator mechanism:
Drivetrain
The electrical team also did temporary wiring of the drivetrain so programmers would be able to use and test with it:
Business
This week, our awesome business team has been hosting and going to many different outreach events!
Here we are at a Rainbow Robotics event at the Tempe Library, showing off our team and conducting a rubber band car workshop!
This is us at the district enrollment fair promoting our robotics club!
Now handing it off to the programmers!
Hello friends! Here with you is the AZTECH's Programming Lead, Duncan! On the coding side of things, the team has been focused on getting the framework on Chaneque's code structured. This means creating "skeleton code" that acts as untested code that is ready to run once the robot is built. We also have been working with our camera to automatically align the robot with the HUB with the push of a button, allowing us to score quickly.
